PVD Young Makers

Home : Providence PVD YM

PVD Young Makers was created in partnership with the City of Providence, the Community Libraries of Providence and Providence Public Library. Since its inception, creating MakerSpaces and running open studio programming in the 10 public libraries has been foundational to the program.

There are now a number of programs running at the libraries either by PVD YM staff and/or interns or trained library MakerClerks. Additionally, PVD YM has partnered with Providence After School Alliance (PASA) to conduct STEAM programming to targeted middle school youth. This not only gives the opportunity for more youth to be exposed to STEAM concepts but also serves as an introduction for more youth to their local libraries and all they have to offer.

Free programs run at all 9 Community Libraries of Providence as well as Providence Public Library on a rolling schedule of studio time, workshops and classes.
