  • Summer: A 6-week program exposing learners to the myriad of opportunities across Newport County. With over 35 partners, students chose focus areas across the following disciplines: Farming, Restoration, Entrepreneurship, Art, STEM, Self Care, Sports, Sailing, Surfing, Music, Sports, Biking, Golf, Hiking, and Storytelling.
  • School Year: FabNewport runs a variety of independent programming as well as programming in concert with many of our partners over the course of the school year as follows:
    • Young Philosophers (a teen leadership development program)
    • FabAdventures (hiking, biking, surfing – in partnership with a number of community partners)

  • Teen Intern Program: A year-round paid internship program encouraging students to pursue their passions and put their problem solving skills to action in our community. In this work-based learning course, students will explore a variety of interest-based career pathways. Students will practice 21st century essential skills, grow hands-on technical skills through making, and share what they’ve learned by mentoring younger students. Novice interns are placed in FabNewport positions and more veteran interns are placed with trusted partners.
  • FabGolf:
    • Golf 101: Introduction to the game and industry of golf. This program runs 2 days/week year round and in the winter one session is spent at the indoor golf range and the second session is devoted to community service projects.
    • PGA Jr.: This program supports our more advanced/competitive golfers. It runs year round 2-3 days a week. In the spring/summer and fall season inter-club matches are played
  • Additional In-School Programming:
    • All Saints Academy: 2 members of our team run STEAM programming for grades PK – 8
    • Newport Public School Programs:
      • Heart Club: A SEL based program supporting disenfranchised BIPOC youth at Thompson Middle School.
      • Podcasting at Rogers High School: A program to support and provide BIPOC youth a platform to develop their individual voice.

  • Open Studio: Drop-in MakerSpace programming offered afterschool and summer in all of the libraries throughout the city.
  • MakerSpace Programming: Working in partnership with PASA (Providence After School Alliance) PVD YM conducts programming in a number of libraries multiple days per week.
  • Queer Umbrella: In partnership with RIDE’s All Course Network (ACN) and Rochambeau library this High School program introduced students to LGBTQ+ history, art and community resources.
  • Out-of-School Programming
    • Met School: D|M|M: Design, Make, Manufacture is a semester long class which exposes and teaches students how to use a variety of MakerSpace equipment while they develop their ideas and hone their Entrepreneurial skills and interests
    • Met School: AutoDesk/3DS Max These are 2 certificate classes taught by the PVD YM team to Met School students.
    • Classical High School: Afterschool STEM Club program. Students learn to make Drones and 3D printing
