These pictures tell a bit of Aidan’s story at Maker Camp at the Portsmouth Free Library. Aidan, who came to us as a 7-year-old and left at 8, burned through his 15 hours drawing enthusiastically, designing in Tinkercad, printing and programing in Scratch. I love the the personality of the line drawings. The hand work gives each design its own life. The white boards are less intimidating for non-drawers to create as as they are easily erased while paper has that permanent feel to it and often frightens the non-artist.
One glitch with the whiteboards is the lines can broken up when converted to bits and vectors. We need to tweak that system and think about experimenting with digital drawing tools. That might really release the fearful artist.
